WAMED 2010 - Workshops

For 2010 we are excited to bring you an array of exhilarating and fascinating
special guests to inspire and challenge you to new heights in dance. In August we
confirmed Melusina (Vic), Rose (WA) and Morocco from New York as
special guest instructors for WAMED Festival 2010.

The beautiful Nour and her singer husband Yasser Al Swery will join us for
2010. Nour has been a regular instructor for the Nile Group Festival in Cairo and
together with Yasser has performed duets and taught workshops worldwide. Fans of
Ma'isah will be pleased to know that she will be back, and Shiva (NSW), who
graced our stage with his very dynamic performance at the Jillina concert in 2008,
will also be part of our special guest lineup. Check out their profiles for more

The venue for the Friday workshops is the Morley Sport and Recreation Centre,
Cnr Wellington Road & Mangini Street, Morley 6062, a spacious venue with plenty of
parking, within walking distance of the Galleria shopping centre precinct with shops, cafes
and restaurants.

The Saturday and Sunday workshops are at the WAAPA dance studios: the Western
Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), ECU Mount Lawley Campus, 2 Bradford
Street, Mount Lawley Perth, Western Australia 6050.

Shoes at WAAPA studios
The WAAPA venue provides us with tarquette dance floors optimised for dance, so care
must be taken with footwear! WAAPA have provided the following guidelines:

If you wear shoes to dance, preferred are the canvas style ballet flats with a suede style
sole. Jazz shoes and dance sneakers are acceptable only if they have a non marking sole.
You must not wear street shoes, tap shoes, stilettos or ballroom shoes on the tarquette
flooring. If you are unsure about your footwear, please contact us.
